What Are the Different Types of Commercial Restrooms That Exist Today

No one likes public restrooms. In America, 70% of people have had an unpleasant experience in a public bathroom because of poor and unhygienic conditions.

If you’re hosting an event that needs restrooms, it’s important to consider your options carefully. The ideal option is something that you can keep clean and well-stocked, and that your patrons can have privacy in.

Keep reading till the end to learn about the different types of commercial restrooms you can choose from.

Features of a Public Restroom

Most public restrooms have the same basic features. They’ve got toilets, stalls for privacy, basins, and soap to wash your hands, and mirrors. They’ve also got sanitary towel dispensers and disposable bins for some bathrooms, and urinals for others.

Most public restrooms will have at least one wheelchair-accessible stall too, and one of the bathrooms should have a baby changing table.

The amount of each of these features will change depending on the restroom layout. The best restrooms try to fit in as many toilets and sinks as possible, but have to work with the space they’re given.

-Single Bathrooms

These bathrooms are less common since they take up a lot more space. But people often like them because they provide a lot more privacy.

There are usually a collection of two or three individual or single bathrooms in smaller establishments. These bathrooms are often not gendered so they can avoid queues. This means each individual bathroom has all the necessary features: a toilet, sink, bin, extra toilet paper, and sometimes a mirror all in one stall.

These stalls are usually small rooms (about the size of a closet) rather than traditional bathroom stalls. These bathrooms can be trickier to stock because they’re so cramped, so there isn’t much space to put extra toilet paper or large bins.

So while these bathrooms are the preferred choice for customers, they need lots of check-ins throughout the day to keep them in good condition.

-Multiple-Person Restrooms

Most of the time, a commercial restroom will be a multiple-person one. These restrooms usually have a row of stalls with toilets inside of them. Men’s restrooms will sometimes have a short row of stalls, and the other row is urinals.

Outside of the stalls, there’ll be a row of sinks and a long mirror for everyone to wash their hands. It’s also preferred that there are hand driers or towels for afterward.

Most people prefer that restroom partitions are tall enough to offer privacy. It’s also helpful if there are hooks on the back of the door, so people can hang up their jackets or bags and don’t have to put things on the floor.

If this sounds like the best option for your needs, it’s a good idea to hire them to help you improve the quality of your bathroom.

Choosing Between the Types of Commercial Restrooms

Now that you know the different types of commercial restrooms, you can design the perfect one for your needs.

Most of the time, your choice will depend on your budget and how much space you’ve got. The most important thing your customers want is somewhere clean and private.
